The first Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary Church was erected in 1946. The building itself was used for accommodation for airforce personnel on Noonkanbah Station during the Second World War.Father Albert Scherzinger PSM the first Priest Parish gave Mr Frank Rodriquez who was responsible for erecting the Church the privilege of naming it. Frank choose the name Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary, the name of his parish Church in the town of Freixo in the province of Lugo/Galicia in Spain where Frank grew up. The second Church was consecrated by Bishop John Jobst PSM on the 8th September 1962, the Feast Day of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Church has a very distinctive and beautifully sounding set of bells calling the parishioners to worship. The bells were manufactured by Phillip Horz in Stuttgart in Germany.
If you would like to have your child baptized please make arrangements with the parish priest .The parents would have to meet with the priest together, you would talk about the meaning and significance of the sacrament of baptism and the responsibility of the parents in having your child baptized. Baptisms are celebrated after the weekend masses. You are welcome to have the baptism during the weekend masses.
Children in year 4 are prepared to receive the sacrament The religious education coordinator at Holy Rosary School and the class teacher instructs the children at Holy Rosary School. If your child attends The Derby District High School and has received the sacrament of Reconciliation and you would like them to receive the sacrament of the Eucharist please contact the parish priest. As parent you will be required to attend a parent meeting as well as an enrollment in sacramental preparation ceremony with your child.

The heads of Ministries meet the first Monday of the month 5.00PM -6.30PM The members represent people engaged in different ministries in the Parish.
